Official flyer from Connecting Communities
In December 2020 we were contacted by Sophie Morrison: Development Worker for Connecting Communities Aberdeenshire
This is a new project that is being developed in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council
Aberdeenshire Mobile Pantry- CFINE is essentially a mobile food shop that gives communities that may have limited food provision and public transport links to affordable and healthy food items.
At each community they visit they sell a selection of fresh fruit, veg, eggs, and healthy snacks at affordable prices.
Alongside, they will also have a selection of FareShare goods including: tinned, dry, fresh and frozen food that beneficiaries can select 10 items from for free.
Due to the continuing food haulage issues, we may sometimes have limited fresh and frozen food but they will always try their best to provide variety.
In addition to food provision, they will provide free period products and additional support services such as benefits and budgeting advice and referrals to other agencies where required.
Those who visit the van can use just one of both of the services – their main aim is to provide a service that is accessible and inclusive to everyone within the communities they work in.
In South Aberdeenshire the visit Auchenblae every second Tuesday and they have now added Edzell Woods onto this route.
